Our Bwindi Gorilla Trekking Experience

Our July 2024 honeymoon with Green & Yellow Tours was a dream. The 5-day package offered a game drive in Queen Elizabeth, chimp tracking in Kalinzu, and Gorilla trekking in Bwindi. With Norman’s expert guidance, we saw lions, chimps, and had a magical time with the Gorillas.

We considered Gorilla trekking an ideal experience for our honeymoon in July 2024. Considering our limited time to stay, Isaac suggested for us an all-inclusive 5 Days package including a game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, chimpanzee tracking in Kalinzu forest and Gorilla trekking in Bwindi.

Our guide Norman received us upon arrival in Kigali International Airport and traveled with us throughout our stay. His acumen for great sightings in the park enabled us to spot many animals in Queen Elizabeth National Park, especially lions. Norman took great care of us and ensured we got the best hotel rooms.

Watching the chimpanzees in Kalinzu forest was remarkable in its own way. Our ranger guides followed vocalizations and trails to find the chimpanzees. The walk in the forest was moderate and ideal for us. We saw a family of 13 individuals foraging in the canopy and the ground. We spent a full hour and captured wonderful images.

Gorilla trekking in Bwindi was amazing. The forest is well covered by its thick canopy and teaming with calls of the wilderness. We were allocated Nshongi Gorilla family. The hike took us 4 hours including a full hour in the presence of the Gorillas to take photographs and recordings. We stayed at Rushaga Gorilla Lodge bordering Bwindi impenetrable national park. We also had time to visit The Batwa community and experience their cultural practices and dances. We had an amazing time in Uganda and we highly recommend traveling with Green & Yellow Tours
