7 Days Uganda & Rwanda Safari

Your Itinerary

Day 1 | Arrival in Rwanda.

Upon arrival at Kigali international airport, you will be received by our representative and assisted through emigrations formalities. Afterwards, you shall be driven to your accommodation in Kigali city.

Day 2 | Volcanoes National Park

Visit The Genocide memorial museum, Kandt Museum and a local crafts market or a groceries market. After lunch, drive to Volcanoes National Park.

Day 3 | Volcanoes National Park

Follow trails in the park at the foot of The Virunga Mountain ranges with informative ranger guides until you find the Gorillas. You have an hour to observe, photograph and record the Gorillas as they feed and groom each other. Visit The Ellen DeGeneres conservation campus in the evening.

Day 4 | Hiking Mt. Bisoke (3,711m)

Hiking Mount Bisoke usually starts in the morning at the Kinigi park headquarters with briefing from an assigned ranger. The hike takes between 4-6 hours depending on the weather and terrain of the day. Once you reach the summit, you will spot the great landscape and vegetation that surround the Virunga region including the Mount Bisoke Crater Lake, Mount Karisimbi volcano and Mount Mikeno in Congo.

Day 5 | Lake Mutanda

Drive across Cyanika border into Uganda and check in at your lakeside accommodation on Lake Mutanda. In the evening, take a 2 hours boat ride to the islands within the lake while interacting with the locals. You will also have a vantage view of the Virunga mountains peaks.

Day 6 | Hiking on Mt. Sabyinyo (3,669m)

The hike starts from Mgahinga park headquarters through bamboo regions at the foot of the mountain. The hike takes 6-8 hours to the summit depending on your fitness levels. Return to the lodge afterwards.

Day 7 | Departure

Check out from your lodge after breakfast and start your drive back to Kigali city. Upon arrival, check in for your international departure flight to your next destination. You have an option to do Golden monkey tracking or Gorilla tracking in Mgahinga National Park before driving back to Kigali.
