Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by a representative from Green & Yellow Tours. After a brief meet and greet, you will transfer to a helicopter for a scenic flight to Volcanoes National Park. This ride offers breathtaking views of Rwanda’s diverse landscapes, from Kigali’s cityscape to the lush hills and volcanic mountains of the park. Upon arrival, you will check into your lodge, nestled within the park’s verdant surroundings. The rest of the day is at your leisure to relax and acclimate, with a dinner at the lodge to enjoy local cuisine and prepare for the adventures ahead.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Ellen DeGeneres Campus

After an early breakfast, you will set out for gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park. This activity involves hiking through dense forests, guided by experienced trackers. Encountering the majestic mountain gorillas in their natural habitat is awe-inspiring and offers great photo opportunities. Following the trek, you will have a packed lunch before visiting the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund. This facility is dedicated to the conservation and study of gorillas, providing an educational and interactive experience. After a fulfilling day, you will return to your lodge for dinner and rest.

Day 3: Second Gorilla Trekking and Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village

Your adventure continues with a second day of gorilla trekking, offering another chance to observe a different family of gorillas. This enhances your understanding and appreciation of these gentle giants. After the trek and a hearty lunch at the lodge, you will visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village. Here, you will immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of Rwanda, including traditional dance performances and insights into local customs. Dinner will be served at the lodge, where you can reflect on the day’s experiences.

Day 4: Golden Monkey Trekking and Return to Kigali for Departure

On your final day, after breakfast, you will embark on a trek to see the golden monkeys, known for their golden-orange fur and playful antics. This trek offers a different wildlife experience. After the trek, you will return to the lodge to freshen up and enjoy a final meal. You will then transfer to the helicopter for your flight back to Kigali. Upon arrival, you will have a brief time to explore or shop for souvenirs before being transferred to Kigali International Airport for your departure.
