One of the most exciting features of Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp is its unrivaled position, located just inside the gates to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and a five-minute walk from the Uganda Wildlife Authority Centre where gorilla trekking adventures begin. Often, Gorilla families stray into the gardens of the camp making for an unforgettable wildlife experience.

Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp closed its doors on 26th October 2024 for major renovations and rebuilding which are expected to be complete in April 2025. It will reopen to guests in mid-May 2025 as Gorilla Forest Lodge. Guests will enjoy the Lodge’s new beautifully redesigned interiors, including an airy lounge, expanded spa, and elegant dining areas.
The lodge remains true to its legacy of conservation, minimizing its environmental footprint with sustainable materials and practices.
